Nextech holds the specialty record; the growth system runs the cash aesthetic side around it.

You run Nextech in a dermatology or plastic surgery practice, and the cosmetic patients lapse while the medical schedule stays full. Nextech is an EHR and practice management platform for specialty practices, med spas among them. The growth system reads the billing to split cosmetic from medical, costs the cosmetic treatments to the dollar, and builds the ninety-day plan for that side alone. It answers the cosmetic call and the DM on your number, books into the Nextech schedule with the note attached, and times the comeback for the tox and filler patients. Nextech keeps the patient record, the clinical notes, the schedule and billing.

What Nextech is for

Nextech is an EHR and practice management platform for specialty practices, med spas among them. It holds the patient record, the clinical notes, the schedule and billing, and it stays the system your physicians and your billing team open every morning. NorthCore reads from it and builds around it, and the cosmetic side of the practice is where the work lands; the connection itself is described on the page for Nextech. How that side is answered is described under Answer every patient.

A specialty practice has two kinds of visit in one record, and the growth system starts by telling them apart in the billing. Cosmetic revenue and margin by provider and by treatment come out first, with the product, the supplies and the injector's time costed to the dollar. Utilization of the cosmetic rooms and the count of cosmetic patients past their interval come out next. From those, the plan for the next ninety days is written for the cosmetic side, with the medical side left to run as it runs. Then the cosmetic call and DM are answered and booked into the Nextech schedule. The comeback is timed from the last cosmetic visit, and the cosmetic numbers get their own page on the dashboard.

The cosmetic patient and the medical patient share a record and need different rules

A patient who came for a skin check and a patient who came for filler sit in the same Nextech record, and the growth system treats them differently from the first read. The billing says which visit was cosmetic, and only cosmetic visits start a comeback clock. A medical patient who has never had a cosmetic treatment is never sent a cosmetic message unless your medical director writes a rule that allows it, and the rule names who qualifies. A surgical patient inside a post-operative course is left to the clinical team until that course closes. Jess, who came for a mole check in March and tox in June, is a tox patient to the comeback calendar from June onward. The eligibility rules are written with your medical director, the system follows them, and the physician's clinical judgment stays in the record where it belongs.

When staying on Nextech is right

Stay on Nextech. In a physician-led practice the record is the legal record of care, the billing runs through it, and moving either is a project with its own rules and its own compliance review. What the practice wants for the cosmetic side, the phone answered during clinic and the lapsed filler patient called, lives outside the record. NorthCore builds that outside the record and leaves the EHR to the physicians and the billing team.

What a switch would cost you in time

An EHR switch in a specialty practice moves the patient record, the clinical notes and the billing history together. An export arrives in the old system's layout, and a physician or a nurse checks what came across before it is trusted. Retention rules on the old record outlast the switch; confirm with counsel and your medical director what must be kept, in what form and for how long. Billing runs in both systems through the overlap, and so does charting. Whatever the agreement says about term, notice and the export is for counsel to read before anything leaves. Meanwhile the cosmetic patients stay lapsed.

How to do this on Monday

  1. Pull billing by service from Nextech for the past year and mark each line cosmetic or medical. The cosmetic lines are the growth system's whole territory.
  2. Count the cosmetic patients whose last cosmetic visit is past the interval your practice plans around and who have had a medical visit since. They were in the building and went unasked.
  3. With your medical director, write who may receive a cosmetic message: cosmetic patients only, or medical patients who asked, and who is excluded while post-operative.
  4. Confirm written consent to marketing texts is on record for each patient on that list; what counts as consent is for counsel to confirm.
  5. Call the practice during clinic hours and ask about tox as a new patient would, and note where the call went.

What to do next

NorthCore's Run the whole practice solution builds the growth system on top of Nextech: the answering, the comeback timing, the segmentation and the dashboard, and Nextech stays where it is. Scoped in writing and covered by the promise on this site: results in 90 days, or we keep working until you have them.

The comparison is the software. The numbers, the strategy and the system around it are what we build and run, scoped in writing. Results in 90 days, or we keep working until you have them.

Questions people ask.

Does Nextech do patient reactivation?

Nextech holds the dates the comeback runs on, inside the patient record, the clinical notes, the schedule and billing. A growth system reads the visit history and adds the interval by treatment, the message in the provider's voice, the reply handling and the count on your dashboard. It writes nothing into a chart.

What does a switch away from Nextech cost in time?

Count it in the record and the billing together: the patient record, the clinical notes and the billing history exported, then checked by a clinician before they are trusted. Charting and billing both run twice through the overlap. Retention rules outlast the switch; confirm with counsel and your medical director what must be kept.

What is the difference between Nextech and NorthCore?

Nextech is software your team runs every day. NorthCore is a team that builds and runs the growth system on top of it: the answering, the comeback timing, the segmentation and the dashboard. One is the record; the other is the work around the record.

Does the system write anything into the chart?

No. It reads the visit history it needs for timing and writes nothing into a chart. The booking and the call note land on the calendar, and anything a patient says that is clinical is handed to a provider.
