Where each number comes from
- Appointments a month: your calendar, all providers, booked rather than completed.
- No-show rate: last month's no-shows plus cancellations inside your notice window, divided by appointments booked.
- Average ticket: revenue divided by completed appointments, from your record system.
- Refill share: how often a cancelled chair gets filled from a waitlist, a text to a nearby patient, or a walk-in.
What the number means
An empty chair is the only cost in the practice that cannot be recovered later; the provider's hour is gone. The fix has three parts. A deposit or card on file that makes the booking firm, a reminder sequence timed and worded for the treatment, and a waitlist that refills the chair the moment it opens. Deposit and cancellation terms are yours to set; confirm the wording with counsel.
The full method, with the timing and the fixes ranked by what they return, is in the guide linked below.
